Education
I obtained a joint Bachelor of Science in math and physics from MIT with a 4.7/50 GPA. I also have a Master of Science from Imperial College London in theoretical physics, completed with merit. Despite my coursework being theoretical in nature, I have experience with experimental physics via internship programs and undergraduate research opportunities.
Experience
I've tutored all throughout high school via a free after-school program offered to students at my high school. While in college, I tutored friends and friends of friends on a consistent basis. Helping a student learn is obviously rewarding in itself. However, I have found that I particularly enjoy relearning/ reviewing subjects again, now having a deeper background in the subjects under my belt. It forces me to make connections between the subject and all the subsequent coursework, ultimately reinforcing everything learned throughout my education. What I've found to be most effective as a tutor is making sure I am accessible. I believe that when a student knows he or she has access to someone who is responsive at all times, he or she can learn in the least inhibited way. I also have found it effective to isolate and highly emphasize the major axioms of a subject or the major problem solving methods of a course . Once these are adequately understood, the following coursework becomes much easier, as it is often the case that the material is a variation on a theme.
