Experience
I've been a tutor with WyZant for the past several years - focusing on Public Speaking, Writing and Oral Reading. This activity has been instrumental in designing the Public Speaking Workshops - www.ProfitsInPodiumPractices.com - that I conduct throughout the country for various corporations. Intermittant travel allows me to accept a few more local students for tutoring - age range - high school through adult. Currently I'm in the midst of writing a book relative to voice training in public speaking - mostly to serve as a supplement for the workshops. The primary tenet for the workshops is simply, the art of reading out loud is an absolutely essential stepping stone prior to becoming an impactful speaker, the rules of which have never been succesfully articulated via any written material. Prior to my involvement in the public speaking arena, I spent 30 years in the travel industry, managing national marketing and sales teams, then moved to the construction industry where I followed the same path. Throughout this time, I vigorously pursued various avocations. These focused on choral conducting for over 40 years, professional musician where I traveled internationally for 5 years, theatre director, and Voice-Over Artist (current). Although my work facilitating workshops allows tremendous diversification and the ability to impact a significant number of people, the individual tutoring experience brings me more personal satifaction in terms of observing student growth over a longer period of time.
